Founding Partner - Commercial, Civil and International Litigation

Mr. Gonzalez heads the Firm's Commercial, Civil and International Litigation Groups. He concentrates his practice in complex commercial, real estate, civil and international litigation in both federal and state courts. He represents lenders, banking concerns, public and private corporations and other business entities in state, federal and bankruptcy courts in matters involving secured and unsecured creditors' claims, business liquidations, receiverships, commercial foreclosures and liability issues.

During the savings and loan/banking crisis of the 1980's and go's, federal banking agencies specially retained Mr. Gonzalez to investigate many institutional failures throughout the country. Those investigations involved exceedingly complex financial schemes and required a thorough knowledge of sophisticated banking transactions. As a result of those investigations, the U.S. government specially retained Mr. Gonzalez to prosecute several highly complex matters in federal and state courts.

As South Florida has emerged as a center of international business, Mr. Gonzalez has frequently been retained to represent European and South American concerns locally and throughout the United States.

Born in Havana, Cuba, August 21, 1956, he was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1983. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Supreme Court and is a member of the Trial Bar. Mr. Gonzalez graduated cum laude from Florida International University in 198o, where he received a Bachelors in Business Administration. In 1983, he graduated cum laude from the University of Miami where he received a Juris Doctorate degree. Mr. Gonzalez is fluent in Spanish.
